IELTS is recognized and accepted by colleges, universities, government organizations, and other professional bodies in the world. There are two modules of IELTS, which are General Training and Academic. Those who wish to apply for permanent residence (PR), or Work permit, need to do General Training where those who want to study, have to do Academic Module. This test assesses the test of English through Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. It has total band score from 0 to 9. Depending on the institution and level of study, there are different requirements of the individual institution. However, it is considered in most of the colleges and universities that for undergraduate level of study student has to get at least 6 overall band score no less than 5.5 in each band, and for post graduate level of study, student has to get 6.5 overall band score no less than 6 in each band. But, there are some courses such as like nursing, social work, law, journalism which require more score.
We, at KIEC, conduct 6 weeks preparation course of IELTS by an experienced teachers. We provide necessary materials to the students such as practice materials, books, and handouts. British council conducts IELTS test in Nepal, and it announces the test date for each month. Students required to book test in advance. The cost of the test is NPR 15400. The validity of the IELTS test score is two years.
